Dear Reader! Today, I'm thrilled to spill the beans on how the journey of PeachyClay came to be.
The Spark of Curiosity
Back in May 2021, I found myself in a tough spot. I couldn't get into a good college due to financial reasons, and job opportunities were scarce. One day, while browsing online, I discovered polymer clay. Even though I knew nothing about it, I felt a spark of curiosity.
This newfound interest in polymer clay ignited a passion within me that I never knew existed. As I delved deeper into the world of polymer clay artistry, I found a sense of purpose and fulfillment that had been missing from my life.
The First Creations
Starting my creative journey with just ₹300, I bought my first batch of clay. Lacking proper tools, I used bottle caps as cutters and perfume bottles as rolling pins to begin my experimentation.
The result? A charming daisy necklace that never fails to brighten my day! I spent countless hours practicing. Each piece I made taught me something new, and slowly but surely, I got better at it.
Growing Peachy Clay
Launching Peachy Clay on Instagram was like throwing a party and hoping people would show up - luckily, they did! 🎉 I named my page 'Peachy Clay' because it sounded cute and different. I created the logo quicker than one could utter "Canva"—almost as swiftly!
As I continued to pour my heart and soul into creating, the engagement with my audience started to grow organically, and I started gaining followers. Running a business alone isn’t easy, especially when you’re also the sole creator. There were times when juggling everything felt overwhelming, but the support from my followers and customers kept me going. Every order, every positive review, and every word of encouragement fueled my passion and determination.
Creating intricate jewelry pieces, miniature sculptures, and decorative items became not only a hobby but a form of therapy for me. The vibrant colors, the malleability of the clay, and the endless possibilities it offered fueled my creativity and allowed me to express myself in ways I had never imagined.
The Road Ahead
As my business grew, I gradually reinvested the profits back into Peachy Clay. From basic tools, a clay pressing machine to a much-needed work desk, I turned my workspace into a creative powerhouse! After three years of hard work and dedication, I proudly launched our website this year. It's a milestone that represents how far we've come.
What started as a simple curiosity had blossomed into a budding small business.
Through the art of polymer clay, I not only found a creative outlet but also a source of income and a community of like-minded individuals who shared my passion. It taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of pursuing what sets your soul on fire, even in the face of adversity.
The journey has been amazing so far, and I’m excited about what the future holds. There are so many more designs I want to create and share with you all. Your support means everything to me, and I can’t wait to continue this journey together.
Thank you for being part of this family.
Stay creative and keep shining!
Warmly,
Vanshika Agrawal
